Where Modernist Legacy Meets Hudson Valley Charm
Welcome to the Overlook Hotel — a reimagined Modernist retreat nestled in the heart of the Hudson Valley. Originally designed in 1966 by architect Thaddeus Hanser and formerly known as the Red House Inn, this one-of-a-kind Bauhaus-style motel has been thoughtfully revived for today’s discerning traveler. Located on scenic Route 32 in Saugerties, NY, the Overlook Hotel offers a perfect blend of mid-century design, smart luxury, and natural beauty.
Set on 3.2 tranquil acres and surrounded by mountain views, our 16-room boutique property is the ideal basecamp for exploring the Catskills. Whether you’re heading to HITS Horse Park, swinging a racket at Total Tennis, entertaining the family at Puttin Plus, or hiking to Kaaterskill Falls, adventure is always close at hand. In the winter, we’re just a short drive to the slopes at Hunter Mountain, and come autumn, the vibrant foliage creates a truly unforgettable backdrop.
Each of our guest rooms is designed with comfort, style, and innovation in mind. From spa-inspired bathrooms with steam showers and LED-lit mirrors, to smart climate controls, plush bedding, and private patios with mountain views — your stay is more than just a getaway; it’s a fully immersive experience in relaxation and rejuvenation.
Whether you're here for a romantic escape, a creative retreat, or a weekend of adventure, the Overlook Hotel invites you to experience the Hudson Valley in a whole new light — where timeless design and thoughtful hospitality meet.
